"The Sims 2: Pets"
"The Sims" is one of the most popular simulation games in the world, and its sequel was also very successful. Its simple control and free-form play makes it perfect for younger children. One of the most kid friendly of all the "Sims 2" spin-off games was "The Sims 2: Pets." In this game, kids are allowed to create and name a pet of their own choosing. They can choose between cats and dogs. This limitation is overcome by allowing players to mix dog breeds to create their own unique animal. You can customize their personalities and send them out to make money in several different career paths. Career paths include show business, security and service industries. Take your pet for walks and to the park to meet other pets. You must balance your pet's needs with your own and earn pet-care skills to boost your personality.
"Innocent Life": A Futurist "Harvest Moon"
"Harvest Moon" is a game series that originated on the Super Nintendo. It simulated the day-to-day life of a farmer. Players planted, watered, picked crops, fixed their yards, bought chickens, raised cows, went to county fairs and courted beautiful village girls. "Innocent Life" is the PSP version of Harvest Moon. It takes place in a small island that you can explore by walking or by biking. Children will plant and tend to their gardens and animals and can even go on a variety of missions for the town's people. Areas include ruins, the village, strange symbolic statues, farmstead and a volcano. The "Harvest Moon" games have always been kid friendly, and this game is no different. The simple theme and controls will appeal to children as will the colorful and cartoonish graphics.
"Thrillville"
Not every simulation game simulates the day-to-day life of people. "Thrillville" is a roller-coaster simulation game that will appeal to younger kids. The simple controls and lack of difficulty open up new avenues of gaming for children. Kids get to create their own interactive amusement park. They customize every option of the game, from the rides to the attendance fee. However, the game never bogs kids down with too much information. One of the most kid-friendly aspects of the game is the midway minigames. Any game placed in the amusement park can be played by your kids in a simple yet engaging arcade game. Kids can also design and even ride their own roller coasters and rides with the easy-to-use ride-creation tool.
