How to Install the Internet on a PSP Without WiFi

Although you might think that you need "WiFi" to connect to the Internet with a PSP, you don't actually need to have a WiFi hotspot. You can connect using a wireless router, along with your regular dial up, cable, DSL or broadband modem. You do not need a WiFi modem to be able to connect your PSP to the Internet. With a few easy steps and a wireless router for your regular modem, you can install the Internet on your PSP.

Instructions

  1. Connect With Buying a Wireless Router

    • 1

Connect the wireless router you have purchased to any type of modem. You can use this wireless router with dial up Internet, broadband Internet, DSL Internet or cable Internet. This does not make you have a WiFi Internet connection, but provides you with wireless Internet at your home.

    • 2

Turn on the wireless router and follow the steps in the instruction manual to make sure it picks up a signal from your modem. With many routers, this is as simple as just plugging it into the modem and turning it on. Sometimes you will need to run an installation disk in your main computer.

    • 3

      Turn on your PSP.

    • 4

Scroll down the left hand side to the "Settings" menu.

    • 5
