Retro Games for the PSP

Although there are plenty of brand new games for the PlayStation Portable, playing retro games shows how the industry has evolved over past decades. Also, retro games come in compilations so you can play a handful of great games on one PSP disc rather than just one arcade game at a time.
  1. "Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play"

    • "Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play," released in late 2005, features 21 games first released in the 1980s and early 1990s. Fight in "Mortal Kombat 3" or deliver papers in the neighborhood with "Paperboy." Other retro games included in this compilation are "Wizard of Wor," "Spy Hunter" and "Cyberball 2072." Play multiplayer games with a friend using the PSP's local wireless interactivity.

    "Namco Museum Battle Collection"

    • Namco created some of the most popular retro games. "Namco Museum Battle Collection" features such arcade classics as "Pac-Man," "Ms. Pac-Man," "Dig Dug" and "Galaga." Since these retro games used to fit on a different screen shape than the PSP, the "Namco Museum Battle Collection" gives you the option of changing the way the game displays so you get the best gaming experience.

    "Capcom Classics Collection Remixed"

    • Although Capcom is best known for action and platform games, it also provides adventure and shooting games as well. With "Capcom Classics Collection Remixed," you'll have access to "Magic Sword," "1941," "Strider" and "Bionic Commando." If your friend has a PSP, you can play multiplayer games such as "Forgotten Worlds."
