How to Adjust the Sound Settings of the PSP

The Sony PSP focuses on ease of use, with a comprehensive menu as well as a full range of keys and controls. Internal settings, such as though that govern sound quality, are easily accessible through the PSP's familiar controls. Here are a couple of ways to adjust and customize the sound settings.

  1. Adjust the Sound Settings

      Use the direction arrow keys to move to the Sound icon on the Home menu icon, then use the "X" button to confirm your selection.

      Limit the maximum volume by choosing "AVLS On."

      Choose the "Key Tone Off" setting if you want to mute the sounds that are made when you press buttons on the PSP.

    Adjust the Tone

      Use the Sound button to adjust the tone of the PSP sound.

      Press the Sound button repeatedly to cycle through the different tone qualities: Heavy, Pop, Jazz, Unique and Off (this is the default setting).

      Press and hold down the Sound button if you want to mute the sound on your PSP. You can turn the mute function off by pressing the Sound button again.
