A Tutorial on How to Rip UMDs

Many PlayStation Portable owners rip Universal Media Disc games to their PC for backup purposes. Since each game disc has a specific UMD, you can only rip one game file at a time. To complete the process, you must have custom firmware installed on the device. After installing the custom firmware, you can use a flash drive and a PSP USB cable to rip each game file to your PC. If your PSP did not include a PSP USB cable, you can purchase one online for less than $10.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your preferred game into your PSP.

    • 2

Click the ̶0;Select̶1; button. Scroll to the ̶0;USB Drive̶1; option and select ̶0;UMD Disc.̶1; Exit the menu.
