How to Get Your PlayStation Portable's (PSP) Volume Louder

The Sony PlayStation Portable offers a fun way to enjoy your favorite video games while riding in the car or even just waiting for your class to star. The addition of headphones helps ensure that your fun won't distract those sitting around you. However, if the volume coming through your PSP's headphones is just too low to hear what's going on, even when set to max volume, a few adjustments will increase the volume.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the volume control to confirm the volume is set to maximum. Press the "+" button on the left side of the PSP logo, below the screen.

    • 2

Press the volume settings button if the maximum volume still isn't high enough. It is the second one to the right of the PSP logo, below the screen.

    • 3

Access the AVLS feature. This stands for the Automatic Volume Limiter System, and it limits the maximum volume of the earphones to minimize outside noise. You will see it immediately after pressing the settings on. Set AVLS to "off." The volume on your PSP should now be louder.
