How to Play Resistance: Retribution With a PS3 Controller

"Resistance: Retribution" is a third-person shooter for the PlayStation Portable hand-held gaming system. It is the third game in the "Resistance" series and is set in time between "Resistance: Fall of Man" and "Resistance 2." Although the PlayStation Portable is the handheld version of the PlayStation 3, the controllers are not the same. If you prefer to use the PlayStation 3 controller to play "Resistance: Retribution," connect your PlayStation Portable to your PS3. You need a copy of "Resistance 2" for the PS3 to utilize this feature.

Instructions

  Insert "Resistance: Retribution" into the PSP. Power on the PSP and press "Start."

  Insert the plug end of the PSP USB cord into the port on top of the PSP. Insert the USB end of the PSP USB cord into an open USB port on the PlayStation 3.

  Insert "Resistance 2" into the PS3 and wait for the game to load. Press "Start."

  Scroll to "Options" on "Resistance 2" and press "X."

  Scroll to "Connect PSP" and press "X." The PSP will be "infected" by the PS3, which is the process of synching the two devices. Press "X" on the PSP when the "Infected" screen appears to unlock new game options, controls and features.

  Scroll to "Options" on "Resistance 2" and press "X."

  Scroll to "Controls" and press "X."

  Scroll to "Resistance: Retribution Plus" and press "X" to control "Resistance: Retribution" on the PSP with the PS3 controller.
