How to Get the Cat to Help You in Peace Walker

"Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" is the 2010 PSP exclusive follow-up to 2008's "Metal Gear Solid 4," developed by Kojima Productions and published by Konami. Players control Naked Snake, now known as Big Boss, in his mission to recruit allies and oust a dictator from a small disputed zone in South America. The gameplay is a hybrid of typical "Metal Gear Solid" gameplay with gameplay concepts form "Monster Hunter," which is geared toward four-player co-op to take down huge bosses. In fact, the secret cat in Peace Walker is a direct reference to "Monster Hunter."

Instructions

  Speak to Chico on the Briefing Files screen about Monster Island (Isla del Munstro) to initiate the sequence of accessing the "Monster Hunter" missions. Select the mission "EXOPS 29," playing as Snake.

  Turn around on the first screen of EXOPS 29 and head toward the exit. Instead of exiting, this returns you to the beach from the tutorial at the start of the game. Head to the dock area.

  Walk up to the boat and speak to the cat named "Trenya." A short cut scene will show him joining your company, and you'll be returned to Mission Select. Now you can select the "Monster Hunter" missions and Trenya is selectable as part of your squad.
