Complete two Destiny Odyssey story lines to unlock the ability to save your replays. The initial 10 playable characters have story lines called Destiny Odyssey stories. Complete the game with any two of these characters to unlock the ability to save replays. During a replay, press the square button to save it, to which you will then be prompted to select a slot to save it to. You must have room on your memory card to do so.
Select your replay file from the museum in order to begin editing. The museum is an option represented by a treasure chest icon located at the bottom of the title screen. Once you enter the museum, select "Replay Editor," which will cause a window to pop up. You will see your saved file.
Learn the controls to the editing. The "Select" button pauses the replay, which will bring up a timeline of the entire video. While paused, you can fast forward using the left shoulder button and rewind using the left and right shoulder buttons simultaneously. The square button gets rid of the life bars and any other additional clutter.
Select the method that you would like for camera operation. You will need to select the method that you would like your camera to travel from point to point, which can be done by pressing the "Start" button. This will either allow you to place the cameras in free-standing locations, which it will switch between, or you can have the cameras flow on a path, moving between the camera locations as the video progresses.
Learn the controls for the camera. The "D" pad can be used for screen movement independent of the actual camera. Use it to pan left and right, and to zoom in and out when you hold the right shoulder button. When the replay is paused, use the analog stick to move the camera and hold the right shoulder button to bring the camera forwards and backwards. Press "O" button to place the camera in the position that you have it in. The camera will be in this position at this time in the replay. Play the video for a bit, then pause to place another camera location. You can place as many as 190 camera positions in one replay.
Cut out sections of the video. While paused at the point just before the part you want to cut, press the "O" button plus the right shoulder button. Resume play of the video to the point just after the part you want cut, then pause and press the "O" and right shoulder buttons, once again. All video in between will be cut.
Select the option that says "Save Your New Replay." When you are done editing, let the replay play through to the end. The second of the two options that you will be presented with will allow you to save all of the alterations that you have done.
