How to Beat Tigrex With the Death Prize in MHFU

"MHFU" (Monster Hunter Freedom Unite) is the third entry in the Monster Hunter series for the PlayStation Portable handheld system. It features many new monsters to defeat and more weapons and armor to create to defeat these fiends. The Tigrex is one of the more difficult monsters to defeat and by exploiting the Paralysis attribute on the weapon "Deathprize" as well as using a few more fancy tricks of the trade, one can easily defeat this tough monster.

Instructions

Getting Ready
- 1
  Obtain the "Deathprize" by upgrading the Viperbite with the necessary materials. The "Deathprize" has a Paralysis attribute of 260, which is very substantial.

  Purchase or create many different traps such as a Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap, as well as many different barrel bombs.

  Stock up on all types of potions as well as attack-up and defense-up items, such as Demondrug and Armorskin, to make this battle a little easier.
Fighting the Tigrex
- 4
  Obtain and start the mission to defeat the Tigrex.

  Find the Tigrex in one of the many areas on the map. Once you find him, take your stat-boosting items and get ready to fight.

  Set up one of your traps away from Tigrex. Bait him into running into the trap and when he does, plant two large barrel bombs and a small barrel bomb to set off on top of him. Once you ignite the bombs, get as many hits in as you can with your weapon.
- 7
  Repeat using your traps and stat-boosting items as necessary and try and get as many hits as you can on Tigrex as possible. With luck, he will get paralyzed many times during the fight allowing you to get more hits in until he is finally defeated.
