How to Customize Need for Speed: Shift for a PSP

"Need for Speed: Shift" is an entry in the street racing video game franchise designed to take advantage of the Sony PSP's smaller interface. Since its original release, it was followed up by a sequel, appropriately called "Need for Speed: Shift 2." If you want to customize the way the game operates on your PSP, you can do so using the handheld console's controller interface.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your "Need for Speed: Shift" game disc into the top of your PSP. The game's main menu will load.

    • 2

Select "Settings" from the "Home" menu of the game to view a list of all the settings for the title that you can customize.

    • 3

Select "Steering Sensitivity" to adjust how the game responds to your steering controls. Increasing the sensitivity makes it easier to steer while decreasing it makes it harder to steer.

    • 4

Choose "Acceleration Sensitivity" to adjust how the game responds to your acceleration commands. Increasing this sensitivity causes your car to dramatically accelerate with very little input. Decreasing the sensitivity makes it harder to accelerate.

    • 5

Select "Braking Sensitivity" to control how the game responds to your brake commands while driving. Increasing the sensitivity causes the car to brake harder in shorter periods of time, while decreasing it causes cars to take longer to brake.

    • 6

Choose "Inverse Shifting" to adjust the way the game responds to all your commands. This option will make all of the controls the inverse, or opposite, of their default commands.
