SK8 Games for PSP

Skateboarding has become a popular pastime for teens -- and many adults -- around the world in the 2000s, and with SK8 (an acronym for "skate") video games becoming graphically realistic and portable, combining the two activities was inevitable. With games like "Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix," "Tony Hawk's Project 8" and "Skate Park City" for PSP, you can take your love of skateboarding anywhere.
  1. "Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix"

    • Activision released "Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix" for the PSP in 2005. The game has a T (Teen) rating and has mild language, suggestive themes, realistic blood, and realistic violence. This freestyle skateboarding experience has four new levels, and the look and feel of the game is much like the PlayStation 2 console version. The storyline of this game revolves around two teams, Tony Hawk's and Bam Margera's, setting off on a world destruction tour. The story mode gives the player four skaters and several goals to complete for each level.

    "Tony Hawk's Project 8"

    • Activision released "Tony Hawk's Project 8" for the PSP in 2006. The game has a T (Teen) rating and has blood, crude humor, language, and mild violence. In "Project 8," the player is immersed in the intense environment of skating competition, where the world's top pros are competing to be proclaimed as the number one skater. This game has realistic graphics and is for one to four players.

    "Skate Park City"

    • "Skate Park City" was released by Midas in 2008. This game has a futuristic setting and colorful graphics. The storyline revolves around the player trying to help a fellow skateboarding buddy who has been kidnapped by a crazy skate-hater named Virus. "Skate Park City" has six skater characters to choose from, each with different skills. The game features a free-roaming environment, a plethora of skate tricks and peer-to-peer multiplayer modes. Gamers can play against friends and show off all the mad skills learned while playing the story mode.

    PS1 on PSP

    • Tony Hawk's skateboarding games have been around since 1999. There are a couple versions from the original PlayStation 1 console ("Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" and "Pro Skater 2"). With PopstationGUI (a program that converts PS1 games to PSP), these games can be converted to eboot files that are playable on the PSP. The PSP must be modded with custom firmware above 3.00 and have Popsloader installed. The user must own the original PS1 games to convert. Once the games are converted, plug the PSP into the computer with a USB cable and place the eboot file in the PSP game folder. When you select the game window, and memory, the game icon will pop up and the game is ready to play.
