Game Winning Cheats for Final Fantasy 7 for the PSP

"Final Fantasy 7," released on the PlayStation Portable as a downloadable game, lets you play the original role-playing game from the PlayStation. The combat system on "Final Fantasy 7" is turn-based battles in which you can equip items called "materia" that give you extra abilities and stats. The game is fairly long and challenging, but there are a few tricks you can use to make it easier.

Quick Materia Leveling
- Materia levels up with your character the more you use it. The point system used for it is AP, or ability points, and you are rewarded with these points after every battle. To quickly level your materia, fly to the northern cave and look for mole creatures that have a star above their heads in floating pots. Take an elixir from them and leave quickly. After that, look for small creatures in a floating pot. They will ask for an elixir. Give them one; then kill them. Your reward will be 1,000 AP, which will quickly level up your materia. You can repeat the process over and over again.
Duplicating Items
- To duplicate items, you will need to have the W-item materia equipped (the materia that lets you use two items in one round). When in a battle, use the W-item command and select the first item to use. Then select the second item but do not use it. Continue selecting and canceling the use of the second item and each time you cancel it the amount of that item will be increased by one.
Easy Gil
- Gil, the currency in "Final Fantasy 7," can be difficult to accumulate early on. An easy trick to get a lot gil is to equip an "All" materia and master it. Once mastered, it can be sold for 1.4 million gil. Each time you fully master the materia, a new unmastered one is given to you; sell the mastered one and equip the new one to be remastered over again.
Lucky 7s
- "Final Fantasy 7" had a combat feature that allowed any character that has 7777 health to do a large amount of damage. You can use this feature to your advantage. Enter an easy battle and kill all but one of the enemies. Cast the spell "stop" on the remaining enemy and then cast "mini" on your two allies. Use the characters that you cast "mini" on to attack the one that you didn't, taking his health below 7777 so that it ends with 77, such as 7577 or 7277. Once complete, end the battle. Do not let this character get hit and, right before the battle you want to use the lucky 7777 feature in, use a potion to bring this character's health to 7777.
