How to Destroy the Cable Winches in Killzone

Killzone: Liberation is the PSP sequel to the PlayStation 2 game, Killzone. Unlike the PS2 game, it is an isometric, squad-based strategy game, as opposed to a first-person shooter. Like the PS2 game, it has combat and boss fights, but these encounters are more like puzzles, rather than action sequences. At the end of the first chapter there is a boss fight with a tank in which you will have to destroy cable wenches to survive its assault.

Instructions

- 1
  Access the dam and destroy the gate in Chapter 1, Mission 4. Once you do this, a Helghan tank will ambush you. Take cover and press "Select" to see where the cable winches are that you have to destroy.

  Run to a spot where you can see the lone winch on the west end. There should be explosive barrels nearby. Shoot these to take that winch out.

  Move to the northeast, dodging the tank's attacks, and there will be a soldier here who attacks. Kill him and retrieve his missile launcher.

  Crouch, then fire two rockets at the orange-red center of the second and third winches to destroy them. When all three are destroyed, move to the platform that has just lowered to escape to the next area. Do not fight the tank, as it can't be destroyed with the ammo you need to destroy the winches.
