How to Make a Magic Memory Stick Without CFW

A Magic Memory stick gives you the ability to play games on your PSP without having the game in the unit, which is a benefit if you have damaged a game or rented it from a company such as GameFly or Blockbuster. Though creating the memory stick is possible without using custom firmware (CFW), you will need a new SD memory card on which to format it.

  Download the two files listed in Resources. Extract the PSP Grader file using WinRAR or another unzipping software.

  Plug the PSP into your computer using its USB cable. Insert the new memory card in the PSP.

  Run the PSP grader file. Extract the 4.01 EBOOT file, and run it.

  Select the box beside "None" for the trigger option. Click on "Format memory stick," and then choose the drive name of your PSP.

  Click "Create Pandora Memory Stick." A pop-up window will alert you when the process is complete. You now have a magic memory stick.
