How to Put a Screen Saver on a PSP

The PSP comes standard with built-in screen savers. They may not be as interesting as you want, but you can make your own screen savers and put them on your PSP to use. You can also download screen savers for free. The screen saver installation takes only a few minutes. You can interchange them as often as you like.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the screen saver you are going to use on your PSP. The pre-made screen savers are 480 pixels wide by 272 pixels long to fit the PSP screen completely without causing distortion by stretching.

    • 2

Right-click your image and click "Save as." Create a folder on your desktop called "Screensavers." Put the image in it. If you are using your own image, open an image editing program and make it 480 by 272 pixels in size.

    • 3

Connect your PSP to your computer via a USB cable or insert your Pro Duo card into the card reader.

    • 4

Click your desktop's "Start" menu and click "Computer" or "My Computer." Double-click on the removable disk drive for your PSP. Right-click the "Screensaver" folder and click "Copy." Right-click in the removable disk drive and click "Paste."

    • 5

If you copied the folder to your Pro Duo card, insert the card into your PSP.

    • 6

Go to the "Pictures" tab and select the picture. While it is open, press "triangle" to open the options menu and select "Set screensaver."
