How to Return a Sony PSP for Repairs

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a small portable video game system that also doubles as a video and music player. If your PSP is broken and needs to be sent back to Sony for repairs, you can do so through Sony's website. Once you have entered the information about the unit, you can ship it to Sony and expect a repaired or replacement system in return.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "Start," "Internet Explorer." Navigate to the Sony Service Request webpage (see Resources for link).

    • 2

Click the "PSP" option in the center of the page.

    • 3

Click to check the box next to "I Understand and Agree to These Terms and Conditions," and then click your location flag from the center of the page.

    • 4

Click your PSP model from the drop-down menu. Remove the battery cover and battery, and find the serial number inside the battery compartment of the PSP. Then type in the serial number for your device in the "Serial Number" box.

    • 5

Click "Yes" or "No" to answer the question regarding proof of purchase, and then click the "Next" button.

    • 6

Fill out the required information on the page, and then click "Submit" to continue.

    • 7

Open your email account (for example, click "Start," "Email") and get email from the address which you provided Sony; look for a message from "[email protected]." Sony responds to your request usually within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. Follow the instructions within the email to properly ship your PSP for repair.
