How to Play My PSP Without a Memory Stick

If you don't have the included memory stick inserted into your Sony PSP, you can still play video games using the device, but you won't be able to save your games or access game saves that you have already created. This means that for the duration of time that you play a game, any progress that you make within the game will be lost due to the lack of an internal memory card.

     Remove your memory stick from the memory stick compartment on your Sony PSP.

     Turn on your Sony PSP.

     Insert your PSP UMD game disc into the UMD reader on the top of your PSP. The game's main screen will load. You can play the game as normal, but because the memory stick is not inserted, you will not be able to save your game progress in a normal manner.
