How to Find SSID for the Internet on PSP

An SSID is a network name. When you try to connect to a wireless network on your computer, the operating system provides you with a list of all available network SSIDs. If you want to connect to the same networks on your Sony PSP, you may have to manually type in an SSID, depending on the circumstance. You can find this information in a few different places.

Instructions

Look at the label on your wireless router. Certain wireless routers do not allow users to create their own SSIDs, and instead use a predetermined ones. If this is the case, the SSID for your wireless network will always be written on the bottom of the unit, on a label that can't be removed.

Find out which network your computer is connected to (if you're planning to use the same one to connect your PSP). Click the "Wireless" icon on your computer to view the SSID of the wireless network your computer is connected to. You can then use this same SSID to connect to the network on your Sony PSP.

Select the "Scan" option on your PSP. Your Sony PSP allows you to connect to a wireless network in one of two ways -- you can manually enter an SSID, or your can select "Scan" from the same screen. The PSP will then scan the area and provide you with a list of names of available wireless networks. Choose the SSID of your network from this list.
