Buzz! Brain Bender
In response to Nintendo DS's popular Dr. Kawashima, PSP is offering Buzz! Brain Bender, which, like its counterpart, offers a series of mini games designed to test the different aspects of your brain. Buzz! Brain Bender offers a more colorful display than Dr. Kawashima; it also has voice prompts rather than just texts. The creators of the Buzz! Brain Bender claim that the well-presented puzzles with adjustable difficulties can help improve your mental agility.
The 16 mini games offer challenges that range from easy, medium and hard. It covers four categories--analysis, observation, memory and calculation--presented in multiple choices with up to four possible answers. You will be playing against the clock, which gives you three seconds per image or a number of objects displayed on the left of the screen. It charges you with pressing the correct face buttons relating to the specific challenge. Each mini game will grade your performance using bronze, silver and gold stars. The Buzz! Brain Bender also shows your training history for each mini game as well as each category so that you can track your progress.
Hot Brain
Exclusive to PSP, Hot Brain allows you to test your skills in single- and multi-player modes. Hot Brain offers a series of engaging games in puzzles and challenges designed to make your brain more active. The mental activities include hundreds of challenges for logic, memory, math, language and concentration presented by an entertaining host character that will guide, teach and encourage you. You can try the practice mode before taking the test mode so you can raise your test scores. In the test mode, you will receive a score for each category and an overall performance score. For multiple players, the first player who reaches a brain temperature of "Red Hot" wins.
Dr. Kawashima Mind Quiz
One of the main reasons why PSP started offering brain games is because of Nintendo DS' popular Dr. Kawashima Brain Age. However, Dr. Kawashima has crossed over to PSP with the game Mind Quiz. Mind Quiz features four categories, which include calculation, reflex, judgment and memory. Each category has 49 exercises that will help practice or rejuvenate your brain presented as scientific experiments in a school setting with two homeroom teachers. With Mind Quiz, you can check or evaluate your brain age by solving questions once a day. The mock exam will evaluate your strength in comprehension. Mind Quiz works for beginners and advanced users.
