How to Use the Gems in Dark Alliance 2

Released in 2004, "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2" is a hack-and-slash adventure game available for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 consoles. One of the inventive features for "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2" is the ability to collect different types of gems during game play. Players can insert these gems into empty slots in weapons and armor, making the equipment more powerful. Each kind of gem has a different effect, which allows for a wide variety of customization options.

  • One or more runestones
  • One or more gems
  • Sufficient gold to pay for an upgrade

Instructions

    • 1

      Locate Bartley in the city of Baldur's Gate. He is standing in the street across from the Purple Wyrm Inn. Talk to him with the square button.

      Choose "Workshop" from Bartley's dialogue menu. This will open an item customization screen.

      Select the desired amount of runestones to attach to an item. You can add a maximum of 16 runestones.

      Select the desired amount of gems to attach to the item. You can add a maximum of 16 gems of two different types.

      Confirm the upgrade and pay Bartley gold. You now have a new, more powerful item in your inventory.
