Sponge Bob: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman Hints

SpongeBob Squarepants has to save his pet snail, Gary, in the 2002 video game "SpongeBob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman." Gary has been kidnapped by the Flying Dutchman. To get him back, SpongeBob must search Bikini Bottom for tiles that will spell out his name. The main trick is to accomplish the tasks on your to-do list in each area. The game was rated E for everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.
  1. In-game Hints

    • Players having trouble getting around Bikini Bottom can access in-game hints to get on track. Click on the green flower at the start of the game. It opens the options screen. The extras here include a DVD trailer, gallery and, most importantly, a "hints and tips" option. Select it and the game will give hints for how SpongeBob can collect more treasure.

    Trash Duty

    • After getting all of the other downtown tiles, search the city for the character Sandy. After you talk to her, balls of garbage will be scattered around the city. Use your reef blower costume to blow the balls into the sewers. Once the streets are clean, Sandy will give you a tile.

    Letter Tile "B"

    • The to-do list in Goo Lagoon states that SpongeBob needs to go "To the crow's nest." Crow's nest is an old nautical term that refers to the lookout post at the very top of a ship. Go there immediately, and Larry the Lobster will engage you in a karate match. Jump on the moving pole from the top of the ship to collect the "B" tile.

    Dutchman

    • The big fight is against the Flying Dutchman. The Dutchman will start it by throwing bombs at SpongeBob. Pick them up and throw them back at the Dutchman, but run around to avoid the Dutchman's ghosts. If a ghost hits you while you are holding a bomb, the bomb will explode and you will have to wait for a new one. When the Dutchman tries to blow fire at SpongeBob, attack him with a bubble shot. A hit will release some barrels. Use a Karate Chop to send the barrels flying in the direction of the Dutchman.
