How to Make Homebrew PS2 Games

Modifying your PlayStation 2 (PS2) allows you to do many things. These include backing up save files, downloading emulators and playing games designed for other consoles. Bear in mind that modifying your PS2 carries the risk of voiding its warranty.

Things You'll Need

  • USB Memory Stick
  • Blank CD
  • CD burning software

Instructions

      Download the uLaunchELF.zip file (see Resources), and extract it to a place you will remember, such as your desktop.

      Open your CD burning software, and burn the extracted uLaunchELF to the CD.

      Search for the emulators and homebrew games you wish to use on your PS2 (see Resources).

      Save these files on your USB memory stick.

      Boot up your PS2, and insert the memory stick.

      Insert your newly burned uLaunchELF CD. This will run on your PS2 and enable you to load files from the USB storage device.

      Navigate to "MASS" flash drive, and select the emulators you wish to play. You can now load your homebrew games.
