How to Create a Slide Card for Swap Magic

The PS2 slide card allows you to trick the PlayStation console into believing that the disc originally inserted into the system was never removed. People use the slide card in association with a swap magic disc, allowing them to play their PS2 backups on their console. There are alternatives to using a slide card, such as installing a flip-top cover onto your PS2, which replaces the original disc cover with a modified version.

Instructions

    • 1

Find yourself a hard plastic card such as a gift card or an old member card that you do not use anymore.

    • 2

Measure a rectangle-shaped area about 2 by 3 inches. Mark the measurements.

    • 3

Cut your card to fit the dimensions marked in Step 2.

    • 4

Measure 1 inch from the top of your card and a half-inch from the side of your card. Cut the side of the card up to your marked half-inch point. From the bottom of the card, cut upward in order to remove the 2 inches by a half-inch section. You will have a rectangular shape with dimensions of 1 inch by a half-inch section.

    • 5

Determine the center of your newly removed section. Measure about one-forth down from the top, then measure one-sixteenth to each side of the mark recently made.

    • 6

Cut the section out from Step 5. You should have a section about one-fourth-inch deep and one-eighth-inch wide.

    • 7

Cut the corner of the section that was 1 inch by a half-inch at a 60-degree angle.
