How to Record PS2 Games

Recording footage from video games has become a way for gamers and fans to share online tips, amusing glitches and even reviews of games with each other. The rise of user-generated video-sharing websites has made this phenomenon more popular than ever and while the current generation of games consoles are more equipped to facilitate transferring video footage to laptops or PCs, the process is still relatively straightforward for older generations of consoles such as the PlayStation 2.

  • AV component cable X2

Instructions

      Connect the PlayStation 2 S-Video AV cable from your PlayStation 2 to the input section of the video distribution amplifier (VDA). If your PlayStation S-Video cable has a yellow composite video cable, do not plug it into the input as the S-Video input performs the same function.

      Plug in the AV component cables andS-Video cables into the output sections of the VDA (again, ignoring the yellow composite video cables) and connect them into the relevant inputs in the back of your television and the front of the Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator Platinum.

      Connect the Dazzle's USB port into the USB input of your laptop or computer.

      Open the CD drive on your computer and put in the Studio 10 disk, which is included with the Dazzle. Follow the on-screen installation steps.

      Launch the Studio 10 software. Make sure you select "S-Video" as your video input. Check the preview screen to see if your computer is picking up the signal from the PlayStation 2.

      Press the capture button to start recording video from your PlayStation 2.
