Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove your game disc from the tray and turn off your PS2. Unplug your game from the power outlet. If you have been playing your PS2 for hours, let it cool down for a few minutes.
Flip your PS2 so the base faces upwards. Remove the screw covers using the flat-head screwdriver. There are four rubber covers and four plastic covers.
Remove the eight Phillips screws using the Phillips screwdriver and store them in container so you do not loose them.
Turn your gaming console upright and peel the label that is fitted across the upper and lower covers. Keep in mind that once you peel the label, your warranty will be void. A "warranty void" symbol will appear on the label.
Remove the cover over the front carefully. Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the four self-tap screws on the disk cover. Remove the disk cover.
Observe the lens using a magnifying glass so you can easily see dust and other particles. Dip the cotton bud in isopropanol or ethanol solution and wipe the lens in a gentle sweeping motion. Use the magnifying glass to inspect the lens again. If it is still dirty, clean it again with the isopropanol or ethanol soaked cotton bud. Allow the lens to dry for a few minutes and then reassemble the covers.
Re-connect your PS2 and test one of your discs.
