How to Make a USB Adapter for a PS2 Memory Card

Sony's PlayStation 2 gaming platform uses proprietary memory cards that can't be connected to a computer without an adapter, and Sony never released an adapter for its PS2 cards. But with a few steps, you can back up and load save data to and from a PS2 memory card.

Instructions

      Connect the USB cable to the PlayStation 3 memory card adapter.

      Turn off your computer. Connect the other end of the USB cable to one of your computer's open USB ports.

      Turn your computer back on and the computer will install the adapter's drivers automatically.

      Insert the PlayStation 2 memory card into the adapter and click the "Start" button on your computer's desktop.

      Click the "Computer" link and you will see the PS2 memory card in the list of installed drives and storage. Double-click it to open the PS2 memory card on your computer.
