How to Troubleshoot for a Wireless Double-Range Guitar for the PS2

Sudden performance issues with your wireless Double Range guitar can mean the difference between nailing that amazingly tricky guitar solo and failing out completely because your controller lost its connection with the PlayStation 2. Fortunately the process of troubleshooting to resolve wireless connectivity problems is not complicated.

Avoid taking the guitar controller too far from the PS2, as doing so may cause the wireless connection to drop out, sometimes necessitating a restart of the controller to reestablish it. If you must step out of the room where you are playing, leave the guitar behind.

The controller's performance decreases as distance from the PS2 increases. While you should be able to play from across the room, going beyond that could present connectivity hiccups. Use your controller within 30 feet of your PS2, even if you have a large TV that enables you to see clearly and play from much further away.

    • 3

Minimize interference from other wireless devices. Place cordless phone base stations far away from the PS2, as they may operate on the same 2.4 GHz radio channels the guitar uses and, as a result, may cause connectivity issues.

Replace the batteries in your guitar if further issues with intermittent connectivity develop. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the battery compartment lid, and replace the batteries. Replace the compartment cover, and turn the controller back on. The connectivity issues should now be resolved.
