Is There a Way to Make an Old Multitap Work on a New PS2?

The Sony PlayStation 2 only has two controller ports on the front of its case, despite the fact that many multiplayer games support up to four players. A multitap is a device that lets you plug four controllers into your PS2. If you have an older multitap that you want to work with your PS2 Slim, you will have no problems. The controller ports on the PS2 and the PS2 Slim are identical, so all controller hardware is compatible with both versions.

     Plug the controller input on your PS2 multitap into the "Controller 1" input on the front of your PS2 Slim.

     Connect any controllers that you want to use with the multitap to the controller inputs located on the multitap itself.

     Turn on your PS2 Slim. The multitap will allow all controllers to be recognized by the system, which will allow you to play with up to four players in games that support this level of multiplayer functionality.
