How to Make an HDD for the PS2

The Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) is a home video game console that was released in 2001 as the successor of the PlayStation 1. The PlayStation 2 was one of the first consoles to utilize an internal hard disc drive (HDD) bay where the consumer could install the hard drive of their choice. After installing the hard drive, game saves, music and videos can be saved to it.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the PS2 and disconnect the PS2 from the power outlet.

    • 2

Use the screwdriver to remove the network adapter cover on the rear of the PS2. There are four screws that need to be removed.

    • 3

Insert the hard disc drive into the network adapter and insert the network adapter into the slot that you uncovered in step two.

    • 4

Secure the hard disc drive to the PS2 by tightening the adapter's screws that fit into the PS2's screw holes. Reconnect the PS2 to the wall outlet. You now have a working hard disc drive in your PS2.
