How to Add Music to PS2 Games From a Computer

PlayStation 2 games don't come cheap, and it's easy to become bored with your selection if you're unable to constantly update your library. You can, however, brighten up the games you do have by routing audio from your computer to your TV while you're playing them. Once you've acquired a few inexpensive cables, the process of adding music to your PlayStation 2 games from your computer is straightforward.

Things You'll Need

  • RFU adaptor
  • 3.5 mm jack-to-RCA cable
  • Media player

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect your PlayStation 2 and television from the power supply.

    • 2

Connect the flat end of the RFU adapter to the AV "Multi-out" port at the back of the console. The RFU adapter will route the PlayStation 2's signal through the port at the back of your television, where you'd usually connect a coaxial cable; this leaves the audio in RCA ports free.

    • 3

Connect the other end of the RFU adapter to the RF input on the back of the television.

    • 4

Switch the RFU adapter to a channel that is not used for television in your area.

    • 5

Plug the 3.5 mm jack connector to an "Audio out" port on your computer. You can use the headphone socket.

    • 6

Plug the RCA connectors at the other end of the cable into the respective "Audio in" ports at the back of the television.

    • 7

Plug your PlayStation 2 and the television in to the power supply. Turn them both on.

    • 8

Load a game. Tune the television to the console's signal.

    • 9

Start the game and play a song or a playlist from your media player. The music played will be added to the audio of your PlayStation 2 game through your television as you play.
