How to Repair Your PS2 HDD

The Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) is a home video game console that was one of the first to use an internal hard drive as a means to save games, music and movies. Like most hard drives, eventually the PS2 hard drive malfunctions and stops working over time. Repairing the hard drive will help your PS2 function correctly, and allow you to resume playing your favorite PS2 games.

Instructions

      Remove the four screws on the network adapter with the screwdriver. Place the screws aside.

      Pull the network adapter out of the PS2. The PS2's hard drive will come out along with the network adapter.

      Pull the hard drive out of the network adapter and place it to the side.

    • 4

      Insert the new hard drive into the network adapter. Insert the hard drive and adapter back into the PS2.

    • 5

      Tighten the screws using the screwdriver. The new hard drive will now function properly.
