How to Play Import Games on the American PS2

Install the Flip-top Cover

  Turn over your PS2 Slim console and peel off the six screw cap pads located along the edges of the chassis. Unscrew the six screws located on the underside of the console.

  Pull the top plastic half of the chassis apart from the top left corner of the console, freeing the plastic from the clips that are holding the console together. Un-clip each corner of console until the top plastic casing is removed.

  Unscrew the two screws located on the underside of the plastic covering you removed from Step 2. Once these screws are removed, the lid of the casing can be unhooked and removed.

  Replace the lid of the original PS2 casing with your Flip-Top cover, hooking the new lid in and re-screwing the two screws on the underside of the console's plastic casing.

  Place the plastic casing back onto the top of the PS2 console. When each corner of the plastic casing is snapped into place, turn the console over and re-screw the six screws you removed from Step 1. Place the adhesive screw caps over the screw holes.

Use Swap Magic to Play Your Import Game

  Plug in and turn on your PS2 Console. Place the Swap Magic disk into the disk tray and wait for the Swap Magic utility to begin running.

  Select "Load Program" from the Swap Magic Menu by highlighting the option and pressing the "X" button on your controller. The screen should display a large "Swap" logo.

  Open your flip-top cover and remove the Magic Swap disk from the tray. Insert your import game disk and press "X" on your controller. The game will load up and start playing.
