How to Boot Double Layer PS2 Games

Certain PlayStation 2 video games ("Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty" and "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater") use dual-layer discs as opposed to single-layer discs. This enables them to store twice the content of a regular DVD, thus allowing the game to be twice as large as normal. Booting a double-layer PlayStation 2 game involves getting the game to start in your system.

      Turn on your Sony PlayStation 2. Because no game disc is inserted into the console, the PS2's main browser window will open.

      Insert your double layer PlayStation 2 disc into your PS2's disc tray. This will cause a CD icon to appear in the PS2 browser window.

      Highlight the CD icon in your PS2 browser window using your PS2 controller. Press the "X" controller button to boot your double layer PS2 game.
