The Drum Is Not Working on Guitar Hero World Tour for the PS2

"Guitar Hero: World Tour" was the first game in the "Guitar Hero" franchise to come with instruments other than guitars. In addition to the regular lead and bass parts, you could play lead vocals or even drums in all the songs available in the game. If your drum kit controller isn't working on your PlayStation 2, you'll need to double-check the controller's options and the game's settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Add your drum kit to the song manually during gameplay. Just because your drum kit controller is connected to your Sony PlayStation 2 doesn't mean the drum part for the song you're playing is enabled. At the instrument selection screen, press the "X" button on your drum kit controller to add the drum kit to the song you're about to play. The drum kit will then work in the game.

    • 2

Verify that the wireless receiver for your drum kit controller is connected to your PS2. The small wireless receiver for "Guitar Hero: World Tour" is shaped like a regular USB flash drive. This USB wireless receiver must be plugged into the USB port on the front of your Sony PlayStation 2 in order for both devices to be able to communicate with one another. If this wireless receiver is not present, you can't expect your drums to work.

Sync your drums to your console. With the wireless receiver plugged into the front of your Sony PlayStation 2 and the "Guitar Hero: World Tour" game disc inserted into your console's disc tray, press the "Syncing" buttons on the drum kit controller and on the wireless receiver. This causes both devices to look for one another, find each other, and begin to communicate with one another. Only after doing this can you use your drum kit controller on "Guitar Hero: World Tour."
