My PS2 Rock Band Special Edition Disc Does Not Work

Disc read errors may occasionally crop up when you're trying to play games on the Sony PlayStation 2 console. There are several problems that can keep your disc from functioning properly. If your copy of "Rock Band Special Edition" is not working, try a few troubleshooting steps before replacing the game or calling technical support.

  Insert a different game disc or DVD in the PlayStation 2. The game or movie should load automatically. If it does not, the problem may be with the console.

  Insert the "Rock Band Special Edition" game disc in another PlayStation 2 if available. Press the "Power" button to turn on the system. If the game loads automatically, the problem could be with the console.

  Remove any unlicensed, third-party game modification devices from your PlayStation 2. Any devices not officially supported by Sony can harm your console and prevent games from loading.

  Place the disc on a hard surface, shiny side up. Wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth using straight, firm strokes from the center of the disc out.

  Ensure the disc is inserted label side up. The PlayStation 2 will not play an improperly loaded disc.
