How to Play USA Games on a UK PS2

Because of different release dates and technical formats, video game owners in the UK often have to wait longer for the latest games than users in the USA and other parts of the world. People with a UK Sony Playstation 2 (PS2) who want to play US versions of games or movies on UK system must bypass hardware and software security.

The popular Swap Magic 3 program allows imported PS2 games to run on a UK PS2 in conjunction with one of three tools, all of which involve no major hardware modifications so your console's warranty remains valid.

Instructions

  Turn your PS2 upside down and locate the nine-digit code starting with "SCHP" that identifies its individual characteristics.

  Visit the official website of Swap Magic and check the corresponding table to ensure you purchase the correct version for your machine. You also need to buy one of the three associated tools -- Flip Top Cover, Slide Tool or Magic Switch.

  Place the Swap Magic 3 disk in your PS2 and wait for your machine to run the program.

  Move the onscreen cursor to the "Load Program" button and select it with your controller.

  Use your chosen Magic Tool accessory to open the disk tray and replace the Swap Magic 3 disk with the US game or movie you wish to play or watch.

  Close the disk tray and prepare to enjoy your game or film.
