Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check the underside of the Guitar Hero World Tour disc for dust or scratches. Using a small amount of liquid soup, rubbing alcohol or a specialized DVD cleaning solution, wipe the disc with a clean cloth in straight lines, from the center to the edge. Do not wipe in a circular motion, as this may further damage the disc.
Make sure your PlayStation 2 is securely placed in a cool, well-ventilated space.
Run the Auto-Diagnosis feature on your PlayStation 2 to fix a specific problem with Guitar Hero World Tour on some models. From the main menu, highlight "Browser" and press the "Triangle" button on your controller. Highlight "Console" and press the "Triangle" button again, then highlight "Diagnosis" and press the "X" button.
Highlight "On," press "X," and insert the Guitar Hero World Tour game disc to automatically adjust drive settings. Press "Circle" twice to return to the main menu.
Highlight "Browser" from the main menu and press "X" twice to play the game. You may need to repeat Steps 3 and 4 every time you want to play the game, as "Auto-Diagnosis" defaults to "Off" every time the system is turned on.
Try the game disc on another PlayStation 2. If the game loads, there may be a problem with your PlayStation 2's DVD drive and you will need to contact Sony for repair.
Try other DVDs and CDs on your PlayStation 2. If they work, the problem may lie with the game disc. Return the game to the place of purchase for a replacement disc.
