How to Hook Up a Microphone to Rock Band for PS2

Rock Band for PlayStation 2 allows you and your friends to sing and play instruments along with your favorite rock and alternative songs. You can perform with an electronic drum set, guitar or microphone. To use an instrument, you must first plug it into the PS2. If you wish to use multiple instruments at once, you need a multi-tap device. For the PlayStation 2 to recognize the microphone, you must also connect a regular controller to the system.

  Plug a multi-tap device into the PS2 if you intend on using multiple Rock Band instruments. The multi-tap device is inserted in one of the PlayStation 2's controller ports. If you are not using multiple instruments, plug the microphone into the controller port instead.

  Plug a PlayStation 2 controller to the other controller port on the system. Plug all of the instruments you wish to use into the multi-tap device, if you are using one -- including the microphone.

  Start the "Rock Band" game, and select the song you want to play. When the song begins, you may use the microphone.
