Turn off your PlayStation 2 and your Internet connection.

Hook your Ethernet cable to the back of your PlayStation 2 and then hook it up to your broadband Internet connection. Connections can include a modem on a computer, the router your computer hooks to or directly out of the broadband connection in the wall. Make sure your cord is long enough to reach one of these connections before connecting and make sure the connector snaps into place.

Turn on the PlayStation 2 and the Internet connection. Open up the disk drive on your PlayStation and insert the network software disc. Close the disk drive.

Use your controller to control the installation options on screen. They will ask you what kind of connection you are using, the type of games you will play as well as the speed of your connection. Answer the questions and finish up. The software will run a check to see if you are connected.

Try to hook to the Internet to see how well it runs. If it runs poorly, check your connections or call your Internet service provider. Check your computer to see how smoothly it runs the Internet.
