How to Attach the Ribbon Cable in a PS2

The PS2 ribbon cable servers to connect the "Reset/Eject" button to the PS2 motherboard. In addition, it is utilized for connecting the top to the bottom of the console and allows for the the console to have the capability of being reset or discs being ejected.

  • Phillips Screwdriver

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off the PS2 and unplug its power cable from the outlet.

      Remove the eight screw caps from underneath the PS2 console with the flathead screwdriver.

      Remove the eight screws from underneath the console with the Phillips screwdriver.

      Remove the outer bottom cover of the PS2.

    • 5

      Attach one end of the PS2 ribbon cable to the port next to the "Reset/Eject" button. Attach the other end of the PS2 ribbon cable to the port on the opposite side on the bottom of the PS2. Confirm that it is attached securely.

      Place the cover back on to the bottom of the PS2 console and tighten the eight screws with the Phillips screwdriver. Place the caps back on the screws. You have now attached the ribbon cable in a PS2.
