Resident Evil: Outbreak is a 2004 installment to the sprawling, long-running Resident Evil series. Storyline-wise, Outbreak occurs during the same time frame as Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, during the swirling chaos that was the zombie outbreak in Raccoon City. Unlike previous installments, Outbreak features multiple characters working together to survive the outbreak, and in an even bigger break, allowed multiplayer scenarios using the Playstation 2's online feature.
