How to Make the PS2 Guitar Hero Controller Connect to the Wireless Receiver

Starting with "Guitar Hero 2" for the Sony PlayStation 2, the guitar-shaped controllers used to play the game became wireless. This allowed you to move across the room and still control the game, which in turn made it easier to "rock out." The guitars work via a wireless transmitter that communicates with your controller, allowing it to control the game based on your input.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug your wireless controller receiver into either of the two controller ports built into the front of your Sony PlayStation 2. If your wireless receiver has an "on" button, press that button now. If it does not, the receiver will automatically turn on once connected to your console.

    • 2

Place the "Guitar Hero" game disc into your PlayStation 2's disc tray. The console will automatically load the game.

    • 3

Flip the "On" switch on your wireless "Guitar Hero" controller. The controller will sync to the wireless receiver, allowing you to immediately use the controller to play the game.
