How to Use a Memory Stick Duo on a PlayStation 2

A Memory Stick Duo, which is made by Sony, is designed for use in PSP rather than a PlayStation 2. It is possible to use the Memory Stick Duo in a PlayStation 3 with minimal problems because the PlayStation 3 has a card slot for the Duo. However, the PlayStation 2 requires an adapter to use a Memory Stick Duo.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the PlayStation 2 and plug in the adapter. The adapter is plugged into a PlayStation 2 via the USB drive.

    • 2

Slide the memory stick into the adapter. Do not force the memory stick into the slot. If it does not go in the first time, try turning it around. Take care when putting in the memory stick to prevent damage to the Duo and the adapter.

    • 3

Locate the Duo on the PlayStation. Open the PlayStation menu and select "Settings." Look at the storage and ensure the PlayStation is reading the Duo. It should show up in the storage with the amount of space on the Duo.

    • 4

Use the Duo as preferred. Once it is working on the PlayStation 2, it can show pictures and video from the computer on the PlayStation or is used as extra storage.
