Instructions
Increase your character's and allies' levels to at least 60.
Purchase remedies or ready your characters with Esuna magic to negate Fafnir's negative status effects.
Equip your characters with mirror mail armor or with Reflect magic. Both reflect some of Fafnir's Shock attack back onto him. Equip the main Magick caster with an Opal Ring to allow healing spells to penetrate the armor or Reflect magic.
Equip characters with two-handed weapons. Fafnir disregards the character's Evasion ability; two-handed weapons provide additional attack damage.
Set Gambits to cast Protect or Protectga and Shell or Shellga to reduce damage. Add Gambits to use the Charge skill when Magick points drop below 20 percent and Curaja when health drops below 50 percent.
Trigger or wait for a snowstorm or blizzard in the zone to summon Fafnir. A snowstorm can be triggered by talking to Relj or entering and exiting the Frozen Brook area.
Go to the Karydine Glacier and exit through the southeastern exit into Silverflow's End. Move to the southwest to encounter Fafnir.
Cast Dispel to remove Fafnir's ability bonuses. Fafnir is also vulnerable to the slowing effect of Slow magic.
Attack Fafnir with your characters' strongest abilities. Cast Thunder-based Magicks and heal as necessary.
