How to Update EyeToy Drivers

The EyeToy is a digital camera that was developed for use with the PlayStation 2 video game console. While the device was designed with the PS2 in mind, you can also use it as a webcam on Windows computers, as long as you have downloaded and installed the appropriate drivers. You can get the drivers on your computer in just a few minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Identify which model of EyeToy you have by examining the bottom of the device. Look for the code "SLEH-00031" or "SLEH-00030."

    • 2

Visit the EyeToy drivers page (see Resources) and download the appropriate driver set for your device.

    • 3

Unzip the file archive and save the files to the location of your choosing.

    • 4

Connect the EyeToy to your computer. Windows will try to find the appropriate drivers, but will give you an error message that they could not be found.

    • 5

Direct the pop-up message to the folder containing the drivers you just downloaded. Click "Yes" to install.

    • 6

Select the appropriate region when prompted by the install software. Your region is 50Hz if you live in Europe, or 60Hz if you live in Japan or the United States.
