How to Play With a PS2 Using a Laptop as a TV

The PlayStation 2 uses RCA connections to connect to a TV or other visual device. These RCA connections can be connected to anything that has RCA input connections or a converter that can convert the RCA connections to a connection that you have available, such as an S-Video or HDMI connection. By using the RCA connections or an RCA converter, you will be able to play your PlayStation 2 on a laptop screen.

Use an RCA converter. A converter will have different connection types. Many computers have S-Video input connections on them and some newer computers have HDMI connections. A converter with an RCA to S-Video or HDMI will allow you to plug your RCA cables from the PlayStation 2 into the converter, and then you can plug the converter in to your laptop. This would be the easiest way to use a PlayStation 2 with a laptop.

Use a VGA SVGA to S-Video 3 RCA converter to connect the RCA cables to your laptop if your laptop has a VGA connection. Simply plug the RCA cables from your PlayStation 2 into the converter and plug the converter into the laptop. A VGA connector is usually used to connect a computer monitor. Many laptops have VGA connections.

Plug the RCA connections from your PlayStation 2 into your laptop if it has RCA input connections. If your laptop does not have RCA connections, which most do not, there is computer hardware called "TV Tuners" that offer RCA connections. You will have to install one into your laptop, which can be a complicated process more suited for a professional.
