How to Clean Off a PS2 Video Game With a Lot of Scratches

Scratches can build up on your Playstation 2 games over time, and other problems, such as mistreatment of the game disc, can create scratches as well. Scratches can render the game unplayable, and while you can replace the game, this can become quite expensive. In addition, older games may be difficult to replace if the company no longer produces them. Instead, you can clean up the scratches on your Playstation 2 video game disc using common household items.

Things You'll Need

Toothbrush
Two rags
Glass cleaner

Instructions

  Spray the Playstation 2 game disc with glass cleaner. Usually one or two sprays will completely cover the game disc with glass cleaner.

  Wipe off the glass cleaner using a clean rag. Dry it completely. This will remove any minor dirt on your Playstation 2 game.

  Spread some toothpaste directly onto the Playstation 2 game disc. Put the toothpaste in straight lines from the center of the disc toward the edges. Do not put it in circles.

  Rub the toothpaste into the Playstation 2 game disc using the second rag. Again, rub it in a straight line and not in circles. Rub the toothpaste in thoroughly until it dries.

  Spray glass cleaner onto the Playstation 2 game disc, then wipe it clean with the first rag. This will remove any remaining film from the toothpaste.
