How to Unlock the Parental Control on a PS2

The PlayStation 2 gaming system has parental control options that restrict children from the ability to watch age-restricted movies and play violent video games. If this option is unnecessary for your needs, you can turn it off. Once disabled, the annoying prompts for the parental control code will come to an end, which in turn will speed up and improve your experience.

     Go to the Parental Control screen on the PS2. The easiest way to get to the screen is to insert a Rated R DVD in the DVD drive.

     Move to the Parental Control option with the arrow pad. Press the "X" button to turn the controls off.

     Remove the disc from the DVD tray and reset the PlayStation. The changes will be finalized once the system reboots.
