My Multitap for PS2 Won't Work

The PlayStation 2 is a home video game console that plays both the original PS and PS2 games. The game systems are designed to allow two controllers to connect to the console at a time. For games that allow more than two players, you can use the multitap accessory to connect up to four players per accessory to the console. However, you must have a compatible game and the right version of the multitap for the accessory to work.

  Look on the back of the PS game case to ensure it is multitap compatible.

  Plug the PS multitap into the second controller slot of your PS2. This version of the multitap is V-shaped and gray in color. While this accessory is compatible with the PS2 console, it only works with PS games and will not be detected by PS2 games.

  Plug your controllers into the multitap and turn on your game system.

  Insert the PS game into the system. The console should now detect the multitap and allow you to connect up to four players to one game.

  Plug the multitap into the first controller slot on your PS2. If you have more than one multitap, you can plug one into each controller slot. This version of the multitap will only work with PS2 games, and not PS games.
